School holiday programs and dates
Join us for school holidays at Cleland Wildlife Park. We have a range of nature-based activities and learning opportunities for all ages to enjoy. We offer free experiences like our self-guided trail allowing you to explore the park, touch tables and creature close-ups, or book our fun and immersive children’s programs.
We are all about allowing children to explore nature and animals of Cleland Wildlife Park, while learning all about the importance of plants and animals we share our world with.

Bush Play
Bush Play is our school holiday version of our fun and interactive preschool program “Bush Buddies”. This is a great way to encourage young children to interact and connect with Australian animals and nature, in an engaging learning outdoor environment.
Time: 10:00 am – 10:45 am
Spring 2026 Dates:
Week 1:
- Wednesday 30 September
- Thursday 1 October
- Friday 2 October
Week 2:
- Wednesday 7 October
- Thursday 8 October
- Friday 9 October
Age: 2 - 4 years
Capacity: Maximum of 12 children per session.
Cost: $12.80 per session per child for 2-4-year-olds, plus park entry fee payable for ages 4 and above, and for accompanying adults.
This program requires children to be accompanied and supervised by an adult. (max ratio of 1 adult to 3 children).
Bush Kids
Connect with nature and with animals at Bush Kids through hands-on learning opportunities, whilst meeting our local resident animals along the way. In a relaxed outdoors environment, kids and adults will participate in a variety of animal and nature-based related activities, whilst exploring Cleland Wildlife Park.
Time: 10:00 am – 10:45 am
Spring 2026 Date: Tuesday 6 October
Age: 5 - 10 years
Capacity: Maximum of 12 children per session.
Cost: $12.80 per session per child, plus park entry fee payable for children and accompanying adults.
This program requires children to be accompanied and supervised by an adult (max ratio of 1 adult to 3 children).
Junior Wildlife Keeper
Currently unavailable due to precautionary measures to help protect the animals in our care from H5 bird flu.
Children's University
Cleland is a participating learning destination for the Children’s University, led by Adelaide University. The programs are designed to ignite curiosity and a love of learning through fun, hands-on experiences outside the classroom. As children complete activities and log their hours, they earn certificates and are invited to graduate in a cap and gown, just like university students.
Children can collect an activity map from our ticket office, find the items and once completed receive a 45 minute stamp for their university passport from our gift shop.
Free Activities in the School Holidays – Spring 2026
Self-Guided Trail
Each school holidays there is a self-guided trail available, that is designed for children, allowing them to explore nature and animals of Cleland Wildlife Park, while learning all about the importance of plants and animals we share our world with. Follow the instructions from the ticket office to start the trail.
Touch Table
Interactive display of seeds, animal tracks and scats and more, designed for all ages to enjoy.
Available:
Week 1 – Thursday 1 and Friday 2 October
Week 2 – Tuesday 6, Wednesday 7, Thursday 8 and Friday 9 October
Time: 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Location: Café courtyard
Creature close up/chat
Get up close with one of our fascinating creatures in the Reptile House and enjoy an interactive chat where you’ll discover surprising facts and ask all your burning questions.
Available:
Week 1 – Thursday 1 and Friday 2 October
Week 2 – Tuesday 6, Wednesday 7, Thursday 8 and Friday 9 October
